My mistake on this part...

why not continue the theme using the greek "psi" as in "-LyX: Lyx for the sciences"
I thought the 'X' was a 'Chi', not a 'psi'.
I understand that the "chi" is used in LaTeX, I was referencing the theme of using a greek letter, in this case I thought "psi" for "sciences," would be appropriate.

Anyway, if I understand you correctly, you suggest the page name

        LyX for the sciences

i.e. http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LyxForTheSciences

I like the name, what do others think? Any variations that are better?

but you are correct in any case about the second part I think that Lyx for the Sciences would be a good choice, its clear and doesn't exclude humanities.
