Someone in an OOo forum recommended a PDF reader called PDF-Viewer http://www.docu-track.com/?act[69]=download (Windows only I believe)
I gave it a try and it is very nice, far superior to Acrobat reader. However with both installed and PDF-Viewer as default I find that LyX does not create a pdf. No errors, no warnings, no file. At least, that is the only change to my system that I can think of, and returning to Acrobat as default reader makes everything work. Should changing the default reader make such a difference?
