Looks like a bug. Could you put it in bugzilla please?
Opening a LyX document with child documents displays all the ones automatically in some tabs (if the option Instant Preview in Graphics preferences is On); it's good, but the child documents can't be closed. (I try close a child, and then press menu Navigate, LyX crash)

And again, closing the master document the child files remain. Now you must close the child documents one to one. It would be suitable and feasible close all at once automatically, both the master and the child documents, when closing the master?
