I was able to resolve the problem by using the installer provided by berlios. (however after installing with this installer I did not like the console window which seemed to slow down my lyx, so I reinstalled lyx with the lyx.org installer, which resulted in lyx working properly without console but with miktex functioning...)
Then my installer cleaned up the registry while uninstalling. But anyway, the console doesn't slow down anything.
2. The second problem is that the installer was not able to download the aspell dictionaries selected (en + de) resulting in the lyx spellchecking not to work.
Is this also with my insteller, the one from berlios.de? You can alternatively also install the Aspell dictionaries manually: http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=5117&release_id=9651 regards Uwe
