Hello LyXers,
the installer for Lyx 1.5beta2 can be found here:
https://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=5117&release_id=12671
Changelog to last development snapshot from 15-04-2007:
Version LyX 1.5beta2-21-04-2007
- LyX 1.5 beta2 from 21-04-2007
- math-macro fixes
- math delimiter changed again
- new math sidebar that replaces the math panel dialog
Installer changes:
- Update installer: require to close LyX before it can be updated
- Update installer: fix bug that sessions files weren't actualized
while updating
- Update installer: fix uninstalling (not fully tested yet)
The new Update installer version allows you to update your existing LyX
installation to the latest
version. To use this installer you must have my last development snaphot
LyX 1.5svn-15-04-2007
installed.
(More infos about the installer can be found here:
http://wiki.lyx.org/Windows/LyXWinInstaller )
--- disclaimer ---
The LyX 1.5beta2 build is for testers and interested LyXers to see the new
features.
If you find bugs, please have a look at
http://bugzilla.lyx.org
and report them there if they aren't already reported.
Note! LyX 1.5 is in beta state, that means that it is still under very
active development. So don't use LyX1.5beta2 for production!
happy testing and best regards
Uwe
The update installer worked fine for me. There's one feature of the
recent installers I could do without, though: they change the .lyx file
association to the newly installed version (without asking).
I don't know if this is a good practice for stable distributions, but
when I'm installing betas I definitely want to keep the file association
with the production version I'm using (1.4.4 in this case). I know how
to revert the association, but I think it might be better to forgo the
change (or at least let the user opt in).
