Hi, I'm using LyX to prepare an article for Astronomy and Astrophysics (A&A article). Recently (June 2006) A&A introduced the new version 6 of its class file, whose main change was about the so-called "structured abstract". To cut short a long story, the only way to make the present version of the layout working is to add the option "oldversion" to the option field of the class settings, however, it could be advisable to support natively the new version.

I would be glad to do this work, however, I have no experience in such things, as I am only a user not a developer. On the other hand, looking through the documentation, it seems to me that, it might be sufficient to modify something into the .layout file.

Can someone tell me if my guess is right? If so, I found little information about how the layout files work. Nor the Wiki pages and the help files tell much about it, is there anywhere more detailed information?

Thanks in advance.
