I am running Lyx 1.4.4 on Windows Xp.
Beneath is the log file you requested only the problem is there are no new
entries after I entered something in the preamble box. As I enter something in
the box, Lyx displays the "sand glas" (don't now what the English term is).
We call it an "hourglass", but personally I think it should be replaced
with a small portrait of Bill Gates laughing at the user.
And
this doesn't disappear and when I tried to close the dialog screen Lyx crashes
completly..
I hope you can do something with this data.
Not much. You are correct, typing in the preamble box freezes LyX
before it can write any further debug output. The only things I noticed
are that LyX thinks you are logged on as "Administrator", and that it
thinks your My Documents folder is on the D drive/partition. If either
is not correct, there might be a permissions or path problem somewhere.
I wonder if the hourglass might be LyX trying to do something in a
directory to which it lacks access (so that it waits patiently for an
event that will never happen)?
