I am not sure it is the same. First because my bug is not limited to
math mode, nor to the ^ character. And second, because this bug
mentions subscript too, while subscript works fine for me.
The bug is more general, for me the first action I do fails. The formula
was only one example.
But OK, open a separate bug to avaoid mixing the different cases.
There is no message in the console, unfortunately...
then start lyx from a console with the command
lyx -dbg any
Then there should be something in the console.
I posted the result in the bugzilla report for the crash.
