Trying the same with 'lyx -dbg key' doesn't give more info because what
is inputted in the mini-buffer is not traced by the debug function.
It doesn't sound like your problem is with the keyboard, rather something
to do with missing fonts.
Try
lyx -dbg font
or possibly
lyx -dbg any
to get it all.
