LyX/Cygwin 1.4.3 is available here: ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/bin/1.4.3/lyx-1.4.3-cygwin.tar.gz
In this package, alongside the Qt/Win native GUI, you will find an Xforms/X11 version which should run better on Win98/ME. A Qt/X11 version should be available soon as an official Cygwin package. -- Enrico
