Hi. I think this is annoying, and *commands* in ERT should not be counted. For instance, write an equation and put an alpha in it, then write $\alpha$ in ERT. The ERT alpha will be counted, while the equation's will be ignored. However, this behaviour has already been reported, see bugs #2064 and #2566.
