MiKTeX 2.5 isn't jet released as complete version. You don't really need
a complete version.
The installer (http://wiki.lyx.org/Windows/LyXWinInstaller) comes with
MiKTeX 2.5 and configures LyX to use it. So you won't have problems like
this:
When I "new from template" in LyX 1.4.2, it always says missing some class,
etc.
To check it out uninstall LyX and your current MiKTeX installation. Then
reinstall LyX using the complete installer version:

If possible have an internet connection open when you use the installer.
After the installation set write permissions for all users to MiKTeX's
install folder and its subfolders. Now missing text classes, format
files etc. will automatically be installed by MiKTeX.
