I have been inserting figures in Lyx (1.4.2 Windows XP) dozens of times and never had any problems with their previews. Until this time... I created a PostScript figure in Matlab ( the same procedure as I always use) and this figure would not get displayed in Lyx. The place holder for the figure shows "Converting to loadable format..." and does not proceed from there. This stops all the other figures to be shown. When I kill "convert.exe" process the rest of the document figures get displayed. The figure displays fine when the full document is displayed as a pdf or postscript. I ran "convert figure.ps figure.pgn" outside Lyx. That worked fine.When I open the file Lyx document with Lyx 1.4.1 the image is previewed fine also. Leo
