Jürgen, Unfortunately, that does not work around here. Positioning the trackball cursor within the figure float, then pressing ctrl-i, does nothing ... because I redefined that chord. However, I created C-S-I "next-inset-toggle" and tried that. Now, instead of throwing the cursor somewhere toward the bottom of the document, it jumps the cursor to the top of the document, but leaves the figure float open. Is this related to the inserted figure being a .pdf, or does this happen with all figure floats? Many thanks, Rich -- Richard B.
