Another pointer, borrowed from the TexLive mailing list: http://www.inf.bme.hu/~pts/sam2p/ I read there that "sam2p can create EPS and PDF images with transparency" Alas, sam2p starts from bitmaps, not from vector graphics... -- Jean-Pierre
