Paul, can eps files be portrait or landscape at all? (In contrast to ps files, where of course the "paper" orientation matters.) They should have a valid bounding box information, and then in lyx you can rotate them to the orientation you prefer. Maybe your eps files are messed up in that respect? Just a wild guess, Sven
