A much simpler solution, which works generally, is to put this in the preamble (provided you have the enumitem package installed): \usepackage{enumitem} \setenumerate{parsep=0pt,itemsep=0pt,partopsep=0pt} Read the enumtiem documentation for more possibilities. Jürgen
