You don't need to install MSYS. Grab the lastest installer version from
here:
http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=5117&release_id=9951
(http://wiki.lyx.org/Windows/LyXWinInstaller)
and everything should work. If not mail me again and we'll find a solution.
