I think so. They are from the DTL tools used to "massage" the dvi. It's not the long file name but the spaces in the path. This is still not fixed in LyX. You can fix this by adding the path to AcroRd32.exe in PATH prefix (using cygwin syntax) or by a symlink, as you did ;-) I plan to improve the postinstall scripts such as to automatically take care of these things. > Thank you very much.
