Hi People not interested in the wiki can stop reading now ;-)
Have you ever felt that it's very annoying having to repeat yourself when writing a link to something like a file? Do you write all of this [[http://something.org/coolthings-i386-v1.zip -> coolthings-i386-v1.zip]] just to get a nice and short link text? Well, dont! Instead, use a pair of parentheses, '()', to hide the parts of the link, like this: [[(http://something.org/)coolthings-i386-v1.zip]] ! ! This is clever since by avoiding duplicate work, you not only have to type less but also reduce the chance of an error. Btw, this works in all [[...]]-links, so when linking to a page with a long name, you can do the same thing, e.g. [[(PageWithReallyReally) Long (Name)]] See here for an example: http://wiki.lyx.org/Playground/PageWithReallyReallyLongName /Christian PS. And as usual, you're welcome to play in the sandboxes in the playground http://wiki.lyx.org/Playground -- Christian Ridderström, +46-8-768 39 44 http://www.md.kth.se/~chr
