Hi all, * Question * [I was about to post]: Following a 3-dot ellipsis LyX/LaTeX leave a full-stop space. Is there a way to change this behavior, so that the default behavior is that the following space is a standard inter-word space?
* Answer * [After a little DIY-googling]: Get package (from here, for example): https://www.tug.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/ellipsis/ Follow directions in the "Customizing LyX" standard help document for installing new packages... Note: In my case (Suse) the standard path is: [/usr/share/texmf] so instead of using [/usr/local/texmf] as recommended in the LyX doc for locally-installed packages I used [/usr/local/share/texmf]. The consistency is good and it meant I needed to make no pathname changes of any kind as TEXMFLOCAL already pointed here (to [/usr/local/share/texmf]). I followed the package directions for building the .sty and .dtx files, moved the docs (ellipsis.pdf and ellipsis.dvi) to /usr/local/share/texmf/docs/latex/ellipsis and threw out the .aux, .log, .glo, and .idx files. Then I ran texhash (all of this as root), reconfigured and restarted LyX, and added "\usepackage{ellipsis}" to the doc preamble. Worked great! If this is reasonably accurate (improvements/corrections welcome), I'll add this to the Wiki (in a couple weeks). -Kevin -- Kevin Pfeiffer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Tiros-Translations
