Thanks, Paul. Your suggestion succeeds, but should not it work through
mere manipulation inside "Borders" tab?

Another problem: not all borders of the table shown inside LyX are
shown in the corresponding dvi or pdf files. (Please, have a look at
them.) Can one overcome this problem?
