I'm not quite sure, I seem to remember that by default Ctrl-. (the 'full stop' or decimal point) is the compose key. I put: keycode 116 = Multi_key keycode 115 = Multi_key in my ./Xmodmap file, which defines both Windooze keys as Compose. John
