Hi. I have been using the cvs and now the pre2 version of LyX for some time now. I think it is a wonderful program. I compile it on Ubuntu 5.04 and I use the qt frontend. Recently I noticed that LyX is very slow when the "Instant Preview" option is set to "On". For a three page document (with lots of mathematical formulas), it takes about 30 to 45 seconds to load the previews. During this process, LyX stops responding, so I have to wait until finishes loading the images. For a 10 page document it might take up to 2 minutes for this. So I had to set "off" this option in order to be able to use LyX. With the 1.3.6 version of LyX, it usually takes a few seconds to load the same files, but I really like the new features in 1.4.
