Subject: Citation Problems

Hello !

I have installed Lyx and it`s a really nice program. So i would like write my diploma with Lyx.

But i have some problems with citation. I use for my references pybliographic (a bibtex frontend) So i download my references with pybliographic from pubmed. I save it to a *.bib file. Than I have two ways to make a citation from pybliographic to Lyx. First i put citate on pybliographic and over a lyxpipe i get a field in my Lyx dokument with the Citate, but this is emty and if i make DVI-File, i see a ? on this point. The other way is to generate a *.bib file with pybliographic and than i go to the end of the Lyx dokument, ( I followed the instruction in the Lyx Tuturial). Over insert List --> Bibtex Reference i choose the *.bib file which i generated in pybliographic. Than i would like insert a Citate over -->insert-->citate. But there i can not choose anything. The window with citations is empty.

So Both ways doesn`t work. But for me it`s important to work with citation. I have a lot (120-150). I used Openoffice2 and bibus (but bibus doesn`t work). In my case the best program is a windows program (Endnote) with works perfect with word. But i don`t like Windows , i use Linux (Debian --> Kanotix) and would like write my diploma in Linux.

Thanks for helping me!

It`s possible for anybody to answer me in german?

Many greetings

Thomas

Hi.

Sorry not to write in German.

Out of interest does your *.bib file include bibtex keys? It is essential for these to be in place for the citation stuff to work.

If you forward me a sample *.bib file I will see if it works on my system for you and I can provide more help.

Geoff
