Hello, I've recently installed Lyx 1.3.5 on Windows XP and I have been exploring my options. Under the "Examples" I chose chessgame.lyx and was able to see most of the display, except the diagrams of board positions. I received an error message of "Lyx missing Tex class "chess", not able to produce output." Clicking on the missing images, I did see 'you need lyxskak.sty and the skak package from CTAN'. Do I need that and is it *nix only. I think I have it and I copied uskak.fd to the directory holding maps with config.ps I also get the Textclass errors from the New symbols.
It seems odd to me that a Lyx example would be included that relied on odd Miktex files, so I thought it could be that the needed file didn't get unpacked with Lyx? In Win XP, I used File --> Open --> Examples --> chessgame.lyx to produce the error. Regards, Stephen
