(I am using the Windoze port of Lyx)
The problem is that math symbols that I enter using the Math Panel don't appear in the editor as
anything like the actual symbol (e.g. \alpha appears as the (R) symbol, => arrow as ")",
etc.). It previews OK in the dvi previewer, and also running "lyx dbg mathed" produces no
obvious error messages. For example, entering the intersection symbol, and then the Del symbol
produces the following on the debug screen:
creating inset with name: 'cap'
found inset: 'cmsy'
creating inset with name: 'bigtriangledown'
found inset: 'cmsy'
Anyone have any idea of the problem?
I already looked at the Troubleshooting tips on math fonts and also installed
the extra fonts in latex-xft-fonts-0.1.tar.gz into my c:/windows/fonts
directory like it says in the instructions.
cheers, and thanks for your help
There's install, and then there's install. It's not enough to unzip
them there. Did you run the Windows fonts applet and tell Windows to
install them as new fonts?
