Not offering this for these users is like putting them into a super, wonderful, really powerful automobile---but one that has right-side steering (for those of us who drive on the left side). Ouch.
Note that mac.bind, the default binding file for the Mac, has C-a (<Cmd>-a) bound to "command-sequence buffer-begin ; buffer-end-select". No pain here!
