To be honest, if you want something to look "just so", then surely
you're better off just taking the little bit of extra initial setup
time and learning LaTeX itself?

As I understood it the big selling point of LyX is that it's the power
and nice features of LaTeX, offset by less easy customization. Sounds
to me like you need proper LaTeX.
