Do you care to share that change? We can add it to the next lyx
version. :-)
I wrote an article for Elsevier before and I have used lyx. I faced the
same problem as you do, to simplify I have used one author per line since
before going to print they make the necessary changes. :-)
I have also added to the preamble:
\usepackage[nomarkers]{endfloat}
To put all the floats at end as they require for revision. :-)
