Hi, lately I had a problem with eqnarray and Herbert advised me, better to use the amsmath environments:
> However using amsmath is a much more better way > ... > eqnarray has a wrong spacing, never use it ... Now the question arises for me, if LyX could offer a little more support for the amsmath environments in the future, i.e.: - split could be added in the 'Insert->Math' menu, - split could be displayed in the status-line, when the cursor is in a split environment (Type: split), - align: when inserting an align-environment, LyX creates the align- environment with the default 2 columns. That's fine. Now I can add 2 more columns, so that I can put two formulas aside with variable space in between (one main reason for using align). Also fine. But LyX does in no way show this variable space on screen, so I experience this not very 'wysiwyg', but a little confusing. Thank you!
