Alan, Glad to see it is working for you. I know there can be some frustrations in learning to use lyx. And figures can sometimes be hard to deal with, especially. This morning I had errors of my own related to figures I was inserting. Once you get the hang of it, inserting floats and graphics becomes pretty easy.
