Hi all,

I am a LyX beginner, and have a problem with inserting graphics into
floats Lyx (1.3.5), running OSX 10.3.8.

I convert figures into *.eps format (.epsf in Macs) and insert them as
instructed in the user guide. When I run LaTeX two errors come up, as
follows:

Error 1

"Paragraph ended before [EMAIL PROTECTED] was complete.
 ...:Biological-crusting}Biological crusting}

I suspect you've forgotten a `}', causing me to apply this
control sequence to too much text. How can we recover?
My plan is to forget the whole thing and hope for the best."

Error 2

"Argument of [EMAIL PROTECTED] has an extra }.
 ...:Biological-crusting}Biological crusting}

I've run across a `}' that doesn't seem to match anything.
For example, `\def\a#1{...}' and `\a}' would produce
this error. If you simply proceed now, the `\par' that
I've just inserted will cause me to report a runaway
argument that might be the root of the problem. But if
your `}' was spurious, just type `2' and it will go away."

On the face of it, it just looks as though a } has just been misplaced,
but as I am a complete LaTeX dunce, I don't know how to fix this.

Any pointers?

Cheers,

James
