On my staple bound books, I find the need for large inner margins because the 
book doesn't lay down flat. On my book "Troubleshooting Techniques of the 
Successful Technologist", I use 1.8 for the inner margin and 1.2 for the 
outer. The extra .6 inches compensates for the stapling.
