This is weird. Even if lyx has a memory leak, the memory should be aquired
back by the os after you closed lyx.
Where did you get the lyx rpm from? Is this the one for SuSE 9.0? I see also
that Qt 3.2.3 is not the one shipped with SuSE 8.2. This is calling for
problems. Please use only packages made for your SuSE 8.2. If that is not
possible, upgrade your distro. Otherwise it is nearly impossible to help
you. In theory all Qt 3.2.x versions are binary compatible, but in practice
we have heavily patched compilers on SuSE, including ABI changes, and
therefore I would not be surprised if the non matching packages were the
source of your problem.
