Which font files are you double clicking on? I am guessing you went into LyX.app/Contents/Resources/Fonts using Go To Folder from the Finder.
All of them (the .ttf files)
When I double click on one of these fonts it opens the FontBook application and there is no obvious "install font" option
Are you using OS X 10.2, which does not have FontBook? I am using OS X 10.3.5?
Strange, I tried to double-click on the files again, and it just opened the FontBook, and no "install font" option.
Not even if I remove a font, and then double-click on the font file. But the first time I tried it opened the FontBook,
and previewed the font, and there was a "install font" button.
Sorry, I have no good explanation -- I'm not a MacOS expert.
