I am having trouble creating a lyx pipe in Windows XP. My goal is to use
the pipe with JabRef to make bibliographies in my papers. I added
'\serverpipe "C:\lyx\.lyxpipe"'
to the bottom of my 'lyxrc.default' file in 'C:\Documents and
Settings\uid\.lyx\'. I also put 'C:\lyx\.lyxpipe' in
'Edit->Preferenced->Paths->LyXServer pipe'. The error message I get in the
DOS shell is 'LyxComm: Could not open pipe C:\lyx\.lyxpipe.in No such file
or directory'. I thought the problem might have to do with the direction of
my slashes and backslashes, but I tried every combo of them. I also thought
LyX might not like dealing with a Windows path that has spaces in it, but it
installs to 'C:\Documents and Settings\uid\.lyx\' automatically.

A related problem occurs when I insert a BiBTeX Reference (Insert->Lists &
TOC->BiBTeX Reference). I get a message box saying 'Windows cannot open
this file: TeXFiles.sh ... What do you want to do? () Use the Web service to
find the appropriate program () Select the program from a list'. I can't
find an appropriate program for TeXFiles.sh. After the message box I get a
BibTeX-Qt dialog which allows me to add the *.bib file I created in JabRef
and to select a bibliography style. After that I can add references
(Insert->Citation Reference), so in a sense I don't need the lyx to JabRef
pipe, but I should be able to get the pipe working and I should be able to
use the BibTex Generated Reference without getting a strange error message.

Thanks in advance for your help,
