What about orphan/widow control ? http://xpt.sourceforge.net/techdocs/Latex/OrphanSpaceControl/Latex11.001.html (locally otherwise you may kill your current layout elsewhere if it's OK). You might also \enlargethispage with a negative amount. You may even export as latex, build the toc and edit the .toc file before the last pass. But this is *really* for desperate situations (e.g. the doc is due within a few minutes). -- Jean-Pierre
