The Math Panel does not seem to contain the size dot one needs for the dot product of vectors, namely, a dot bigger than \cdot but smaller than \bullet. Steve suggested \centerdot, which does give a dot of about the right size, but it's not centered--it's too low, almost at the baseline. I suppose I could read up on how to raise the \centerdot, but you'd think there would be a simpler way.
