My sincere apologies, Henrik. You did -- and so did others who helped me to understand that the \renewcommand needed to be in a standard paragraph betwen the author and abstract areas. It was last December and had completely slipped my mind. In the future I'll look at my own archives first; that's where I saved it because I knew I'd need it again -- if I remembered, that is.
