Problem with EPS file insertion

Dear All

I have inserted a EPS file in a document. In spite of the occurrence of 
no compiling error, the picture does not appear in the DVI file. 
However, if I export the document using pdflatex, the picture does 
appear in the PDF file. Could somebody here please help me with 
overcoming this problem regarding my DVI file.
