I want to extract a couple of chapters from my book, and put them into a new document. However, I would like to retain the original numbers rather than have them renumberd "Chapter 1" and "Chapter 2".
Would I use something like \renewcommand{thischapter}{5} on the copies to
assign a specific number to the chapter?
