I'm using a more or less standard Mandrake 9.2 distro on a PC (AMD-k6). Attempting to run Lyx, I get a SIGSEGV:
>lyx Loading required GL library /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.4.501 lyx: SIGSEGV signal caught Sorry, you have found a bug in LyX. Please read the bug-reporting instructions in Help->Introduction and send us a bug report, if necessary. Thanks ! Bye. Abort (core dumped) I have libGL.so: >urpmf libGL.so libxfree86:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1 libxfree86:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2 libxfree86-devel:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so libMesaGL1:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.0 libMesaGL1:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.4.501 libMesaGL1:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.0 libMesaGL1:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.4.501 libxfree86:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1 libxfree86:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2 libxfree86-devel:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so I am attempting to use lyx-1.3.3-2 (although the same error occurred in lyx-1.3.2*). Attempting to build from source, I get a message complaining about the lack of xforms, even though I have installed xforms. I am unsure whether QT is a good or a bad thing, so haven't attempted to install QT prior to building from source. Can somebody help me get this working? I wrote my novel in Lyx (prior to upgrading Mandrake), and would like to continue editing it. Thanks, Reuben
