Dear Correspondents,

I am beginning to become fond of the font 'Computer Modern', but if I wish
to use it in LyX, I need to add to the preamble \usepackage{ae} in order
that it prints and displays as a much more attractive PS font.

Does anyone have an idea why the bitmapped font is the default? Perhaps it
has something to do with unavailable PS maths glyphs. I am not a
mathematician, so perhaps this is something I just have to deal with, but
are there any opinions out there as to why the default setting in such a
great programme gives such an ugly output?

Regards,

Peter Ringwood
