  Yes, I know that it's frowned upon. I don't need it, but a friend is
having his 8th grade daughter write her reports with LaTeX. (I've suggested
LyX, but _he_ doesn't like GUIs; I suggested that his daughter might.)
Anyway, apparently one of her teachers wants certain parts of the report
underlined (still thinking typewriters, perhaps) and will not accept Italics
or bold. Shrug.

  So, he asked me if LyX could do the underlining and I passed on the
question as I shall pass on the answer.
