Open a DOS window in the LyX bin directory, and type lyx -dbg 5 at the command prompt. It should open the LyX GUI. Now try importing your LaTeX file and (without closing the LyX window) switch back to the DOS window and see what messages you got relating to the import operation. Hopefully, if a script blew up, you'll find out which one (and maybe something about why) there.
