Hello all,
I have started using Lyx-1.3.1 Windows XP port by Claus. However I am
having a problem getting any images at all to display in the the figure
floats. I have added the lines:
\converter "eps" "ppm" "convert $$i $$o" ""
\converter "jpg" "eps" "convert $$i $$o" ""
\converter "png" "eps" "convert $$i $$o" ""
to my preferences file, and they show up in the Lyx dialog box. I have
installed ImageMagic 5.5.7 for windows, and this setup works for the
test. I can open up a DOS window and run convert on a jpeg file and get
it to an eps file ok and view the eps using gsview32.
However when I insert the picture into a lyx file, I get the error
"error converting to loadable format". I then started lyx from a dos
window using 'lyx -dbg 3' and tried putting in an image again. It comes
up with a strange sort of error about not being able to find
lyxconvert0.sh in a tmp directory. I have included a screenshot at:
http://members.optusnet.com.au/~tjelliffe/lyx_error.jpg
As I couldnt copy the error message.
The setup details are:
GSview 4.4
Ghostscript 8.11
ImageMagik 5.5.7
Lyx 1.3.1 (Claus port)
Windows XP Pro
Is this because it cant find the postscript viewer? I recall from
stumbling through some of the setup details that it was looking for gs
or gview, whereas GSview starts from gsview32. Not sure. So currently
cant get any images, even ps/eps ones to display in my Lyx files.
Thanks for any advice!
