I think this is an easy one for you: How do you properly configure margins in LyX?
I know my question sounds silly, but I'm having a hard time using together Custom Margins + FancyHeaders + Footnotes.
Here's my situation:
- I'm using Fancyheaders (checking the proper option in Format/Document)
- I'm using custom margins
- I've put "\cfoot{\thepage}" in my preamble, in order to have the page number at the bottom of the page.
But there are some footnotes that appear at the very bottom of the page, right *over* the page number. I can't figure out how to tell LyX (or LaTeX) to make the page break a couple of lines before the actual page break, in order to have the footnote *above* the page-number-area, and not on it!!
I've played for hours with the margin dialog, without success... :(
Am I missing something? Should I put something else in the preamble? LyX (and LaTeX) are very good at making page-breaks... so I think I've messed up something.
Besides, I've tried to return to the "default" margins, but there's might be a bug there, because I can't. If I clear all the fields in the margin dialog box, and choose Default (or Small Margins, or any other "fixed" configuration), LyX seems to "remember" the values I entered before...
I'm using LyX 1.3.2-Qt
Thanks for your help! Mariano
