Finally it is working for me. I created the makeindex script and added it into my path. Now i can create nomenclatures without moving out from lyx. However, there is a bit of problem, the makeindex script is not called every time i view the dvi output. I have to add an index and insert the index page to regenerate my nomenclature page before viewing my dvi. Is it possible to circumvent this extra step? Thanks
