Thanks for the link Juergen.. I checked it out and looks like I can change the title of appendices only for classes that provide the chapter environment. So with the article class, I wasn't able to change the title of my appendices to have "Appendix" prefixed.. (I used the appendices environment provided by appendix.sty with the "title" option). nirmal
